Through the wardrobe

Journey to the land of Narnia as Keystone Contemporary Ballet presents a full-length ballet version of the C.S. Lewis classic, “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.”

Performances will begin at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in Science Hall Theater at Westmoreland County Community College, 145 Pavilion Lane, Hempfield.

Keystone artists are partnering with students from several area dance studios to present the tale of four siblings in World War II-era England, as they slip through a wardrobe to Narnia, where a talking lion named Aslan must break the evil White Witch’s spell casting an everlasting winter upon the magical land.

Tickets are $12-$17, available at the door or online at keystoneballet.org.

Take 10

An opening reception for the group exhibit “Pittsburgh 10+: Here and Now” will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Greensburg Art Center, 230 Todd School Road, Hempfield.

The Pittsburgh 10+ artists take their name from the Philadelphia Ten, a group of women artists who exhibited together between 1927 and 1945, defying the expectations around women artists of the time.

Featured artists will include Robert Bowden, Kathy DePasse, Eva Lu Damianos, Sylvester Damianos, Ron Nigro, Jane Ogren, Sue Pollins, Lisa Rasmussen, Phiris “Kathy” Sickels, David Sparks, Susan Sparks, Kara Snyder, Dirk VandenBerg, Francine VandenBerg and David Watts.

The exhibit runs through April 22. For more information, call 724-837-6791 or visit greensburgartcenter.org.

Let’s dance

City of Greensburg Parks & Recreation will host a You & Me Dance from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Greensburg Hose Company No. 1, 6 McLaughlin Drive.

The Hollywood-themed dance is open to parents and children, grandparents and grandkids or other family members.

Fee is $30 for two, and $15 for each additional child. Preregistration is required and is available until doors open at allevents.in/Greensburg.

For more information, call 724-834-4880 or email rec@greensburgpa.org.

Rock me now

Late for the Sky, a Jackson Browne tribute with Jake Thistle, takes the stage at 8 p.m. Saturday at The Lamp Theatre, 222 Main St., Irwin.

The New Jersey-based group plays radio hits and deep album cuts from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, like “These Days,” “Jamaica Say You Will,” “The Pretender,” “Running on Empty” and “Somebody’s Baby.” Thistle has been on bills with renowned acts including Browne, Stevie Nicks, Foo Fighters, Eddie Vedder, The Lumineers and Wilco.

A ticket is $30. To reserve, call 724-367-4000 or visit lamptheatre.org.

Country music legends

Editor’s note: The performance time has been corrected.

The Oak Ridge Boys will make a stop with their Front Porch Singin’ Tour at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at The Palace Theatre, 21 W. Otterman St., Greensburg.

The tour is named after the group’s 2021 album that includes country standards, gospel songs and modern country tunes.

With their signature four-part harmonies, the Grammy, Dove, Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music award winners have more than four decades of country and gospel hits, including “Elvira,” “Dream On,” “Bobbie Sue,” “Fancy Free,” “American Made” and “Thank God for Kids.”

Tickets are $48-$105 at 724-836-8000 or thepalacetheatre.org.
