5 things to do in Westmoreland County: Sept. 10-12
Laurel Canyon will play the classic rock music of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young at 7 p.m. Friday in St. Clair Park in downtown Greensburg as part of the SummerSounds weekly concert series.
The trio comprises music industry professionals, including a former frontman for Pure Prairie League and a songwriting partner for Ringo Starr.
Pre-show music will be by local acoustic trio The Bricks.
Admission is free; donations are collected during intermission.

Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks and Recreation is offering two outdoor concerts this weekend.
Scott Shelby will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Brian T. Rusnock Amphitheater in the Twin Lakes Park Peach Plaza Expansion Area, along Georges Station Road in Hempfield. Andy Davis will follow at 8 p.m.
The Wally Gingers Orchestra will play at 4 p.m. Sunday at the amphitheater in Cedar Creek Park, off Route 51 in Rostraver.
Admission is free to both concerts.

Street party
The third annual New Kensington Wine & Beer Festival is set for 5-9 p.m. Saturday on Fifth Avenue between Ninth and Eleventh streets.
The event will feature wineries, breweries, distilleries, artists, crafters, food vendors, street performers and live music.
Admission is free; a tasting ticket is $20. Host is Alle Kiski Strong Chamber.

Something old
The monthly Antiques & Collectibles Market will be held from 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday at Historic Hanna’s Town, 809 Forbes Trail Road, Hempfield.
Vendors of quality antiques, folk art, historical crafts, reproductions and collectibles will be present. The sale is held rain or shine; last sale of the season is set for Oct. 10.
Admission is $3 per car.

Walkin’ the dog
Action for Animals Humane Society invites canines and their humans to the annual Walk for the Animals at noon Sunday at Twin Lakes Park in Unity. Registration opens at 11:30 a.m. at Pavilion 10.
Held rain or shine, the event features a walk in the park, vendors, games, contests, basket raffles, prizes and more. Those who can’t make it to the park can participate virtually by walking around a yard, neighborhood or other favorite park or trail.
Proceeds benefit the Derry Township shelter, which can house up to 150 animals and provides care for abused, abandoned and stray dogs and cats. It is Westmoreland County’s oldest no-kill shelter.
