Musical interlude

The free monthly Music at Midday concert will begin at noon Friday in the Verostko Center for the Arts, on the second floor of the Latimer Family Library at Saint Vincent College in Unity.

Award-winning trombonist and composer Sean Durkin will perform standards by Johann Sebastian Bach, Antonio Lucio Vivaldi and Gabriel Fauré. Christopher Pardini will provide piano accompaniment.

Durkin directs the Saint Vincent College March of the Bearcats band and concert, jazz and pep bands. He also serves as the applied trombone lesson instructor. Pardini is director of music and liturgy at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg. He teaches music theory and piano at Saint Vincent.

Give me a clue

Apple Hill Players and The Theatre Factory will present “Clue On Stage,” beginning Friday and running through March 19 at the Trafford Performing Arts Center, 235 Cavitt Ave.

The musical play is based on a screenplay by Jonathan Lynn, based on “Clue: The Movie” from 1985, itself based on the classic Hasbro board game. This is the second joint production of the two theater groups.

Curtain times are 7 p.m. March 11-12 and 17-19 and 1:59 p.m. March 13. Tickets are $15 for the March 17 show and $20 for all other dates.

Hometown comedy hero

Laugh it up with Pittsburgh-born comedian Frank Nicotero, who takes the stage at 8 p.m. Friday at The Lamp Theatre, 222 Main St., Irwin.

Now based in California, Nicotero got his start at Pittsburgh’s Funny Bone comedy club in 1988, then moved on to the college circuit, appearing with big names like Drew Carey, Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider. Nicotero also is a veteran of television talk and game shows.

Good country vibes

Platinum-selling country artist Chris Janson brings his Halfway to Crazy Tour to Greensburg for a show at 7 p.m. Saturday at The Palace Theatre, 21 W. Otterman St.

The Academy of Country Music Award-winner’s hits include “Drunk Girl,” “Buy Me a Boat” and “Good Vibes.” Janson also has penned tunes for industry peers including Tim McGraw, LOCASH and Hank Williams Jr.

Who’s gonna drive you home after you see Best Friends Girl: The #1 Cars Experience? The tribute group takes the stage at 8 p.m. Saturday at The Lamp Theatre, 222 Main St., Irwin.

The five-piece outfit recreates hits from The Cars’ 35-year rock-and-roll career, including (of course) “Best Friends Girl,” “Shake It Up,” “Magic,” “Drive” and “Moving in Stereo,” which was featured in the movie, “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.”
