5 things to do in Westmoreland County: Dec. 10-12
Mac attack
If you’re a Fleetwood Mac fan, you need to get yourself to the Lamp Theatre this weekend.
Tusk, the band billing itself as “The Number One Tribute to Fleetwood Mac,” will play shows at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the downtown Irwin venue.
Tusk promises note-for-note renditions of all of the band’s hits, guaranteeing that you’ll be … hypnotized.
For tickets at $35 each, call 724-367-4000 or visit lamptheatre.org.
Holiday photo fun
Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, you can get photos with the appropriate holiday icon on Saturday at the Cattfeinated Cat Café, 159 E. Otterman St., Greensburg.
Good boys and girls can pose with Santa from noon-3 p.m., while misbehavers can face Krampus — if they dare — from 5-7 p.m.
No appointment is needed, and pets are welcome. A $10 donation is requested for Wayward Whiskers Animal Rescue.
For information, visit Cattfeinated Cat Café on Facebook.
Classy Christmas
Dress in your holiday best for an evening of food, dancing, games and gift exchanges at A Very Classy Christmas Party, set for 5:30-10 p.m. Saturday at Saint Emma Monastery, 1001 Harvey Drive, Greensburg.
Dinner will be potluck, so those planning to attend should sign up to bring a main or side dish.
Attendees interested in participating in a white elephant gift exchange should bring a wrapped gift valued between $5 and $10. Details will be explained during the evening.
For information and registration, visit stemma.org or A Very Classy Christmas Party on Facebook.
Mall alternative
If you’re tired of the mall, but still have Christmas shopping to do, Bushy Run Battlefield is the place to be on Sunday.
The annual Christmas sale is planned for 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the visitor center of the historical complex off Route 993 in Penn Township.
Vendors will offer wine, mead and spirits, colonial tinware, scented candles, Christmas greens and poinsettias, antiques, trains, toys and coloring books, cookies and candy, salsa and chips, purses and bags, apparel and accessories.
The Bushy Run Battlefield Sewing Circle will demonstrate colonial sewing techniques and lace-making.
For information, visit Bushy Run Christmas Sale on Facebook.
‘CSI: Bethlehem’
“Late Night Catechism” fans can catch up with Sister on her latest comedy adventure, “Sister’s Christmas Catechism: The Mystery of the Magi’s Gold,” playing at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Greensburg Garden & Civic Center, 951 Old Salem Road.
Employing her own scientific tools to seek the missing gold, and assisted by a local choir and a few audience members, Sister creates a living nativity like none other in this touring show from Entertainment Events Inc.
A ticket is $45. To reserve, call 724-836-8000 or visit thepalacetheatre.org.
