Last concert on the lawn
Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra’s Live on the Lawn outdoor concert series concludes with music by Trio Phonon, beginning at 7 p.m. Friday in Hempfield Park.
Musicians Tom Godfrey, flute; Will Teegarden, cello; and Frances Duffy, harp, will play Gershwin’s “Summertime,” Debussy’s “Clair de Lune” and “Children’s Corner,” Faure’s “Pavane” and other selections.
Attendees should bring their own seating. Concessions and restrooms are available.
Registration is requested on the symphony website. The $10 suggested donation can be paid online with registration or at the park.

Lightfoot postponed
The Gordon Lightfoot concert at The Palace Theatre in Greensburg scheduled for Friday, Aug. 6, was postponed.
According The Palace website: “While working at home Monday evening, Gordon Lightfoot had an accident that resulted in a compound distal radius fracture of his right hand near the wrist. He underwent surgery on Tuesday to install a plate and screws. He will make a full recovery but will be unable to tour in August.”
Friday’s tickets will be valid for the rescheduled date.

Step back in time
The 258th anniversary of the Battle of Bushy Run will be commemorated 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Bushy Run Battlefield, off Route 993 in Penn Township.
“Visitors will learn firsthand what caused Native American warriors and British soldiers to take up arms against each other during a two-day battle in August 1763 during Pontiac’s War,” according to the battlefield website. “They will also discover what life was like on the frontier for European settlers and Native peoples alike in this historical reenactment.”
Reenactment of the battle itself is scheduled at 1 p.m. both days.
The museum will be open, and children’s activities will be available. Admission is by donation.

One-of-a-kind treasures
The monthly Antiques & Collectibles market is set for 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday at Historic Hanna’s Town in Hempfield.
The outdoor market features vendors of quality, one-of-a-kind antiques, folk art items, historical crafts, reproductions and collectibles covering a wide price range.
Admission costs $3 per car. Visitors are encouraged to wear face masks and practice social distancing. Foot traffic is one-way along the aisles.
Sale is held rain or shine.

Family fun and more
The annual August Fun Fest is set for 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday in Cedar Creek Park in Rostraver.
Presented by Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks and Recreation, the festival features food, entertainment, car show, arts and crafts marketplace, flea market, bingo, children’s activities and displays by Mid Mon Valley Model Railroad and Mon Valley R/C Model Airplane clubs.
Chuck Blasko and the Vogues will sing from 2-3:30 p.m. in the amphitheater. Entertainment at Pavilion No. 1 includes Sky Maestros, 11 a.m.; Pittsburgh Big Band Legends, 1 p.m.; Catfish Creek Revival, 2 p.m.; The Townsmen Plus One, 3 p.m.; and The Wally Gingers Orchestra, 4 p.m.
A $4 all-day activity pass includes unlimited admission to inflatables, bounce houses, obstacle courses, a rock climbing wall, petting zoo, kiddie train rides and NERF battlefield course.
Admission and parking are free. Dogs and other pets are not permitted.
