Registration for the annual pre-Thanksgiving dinner footrace through Greensburg is now open.
The Greensburg Thanksgiving Turkey Trot, in its 33rd year, is scheduled to start Nov. 28 at 9 a.m. It is a 5K run and walk that typically sees 2,000 participants.
“The race has evolved into more than just a competitive contest, it is a signature community event that benefits many great organizations,” said Mark Sorice, race committee chairman and one of the founders.
Race proceeds support several community nonprofits.
Online registration is available at secure.getmeregistered.com by searching Greensburg Thanksgiving Turkey Trot or through gbgturkeytrot.com. Adult registration is $30. For children 13 and younger, registration is $15. Awards will be presented to top runners and walkers and teams are welcome to register for a chance to win group trophies.
Race packets and shirts can be picked up at the Greensburg YWCA, 424 N. Main St. on Wednesday, Nov. 27 between noon and 6 p.m. and before the race Thanksgiving morning at the courthouse plaza between 7 and 8:30 a.m.
