Three Westmoreland County brothers who worked for the same Rostraver sanitation company are accused of theft for using company-issued credit cards to make dozens of fuel purchases for their private vehicles.
Zachary T. Williams, 29; Justin D. Williams, 19; and Brandon J. Williams, 21, all of West Newton, have been charged by Rostraver police with access device fraud, receiving stolen property and theft by deception for allegedly making dozens of personal fuel purchases totalling $1,200 that were charged to Bigs Sanitation Co. in Rostraver.
Sgt. Scott Sokol reported the trio made the purchases this year at gas stations and convenience stores in Belle Vernon, Monessen, Rostraver and Smithton. Sokol reported in court documents the sanitation company acquired videos of the men pumping fuel into their personal vehicles. Company officials notified township police last month.
A spokesman for Bigs said the men were terminated after the thefts were discovered.
Zachary Williams is accused of pumping $818 worth of fuel; Justin Williams, $239, and Brandon Williams, $223.
Sokol said in court documents that when questioned the brothers claimed they had been given company approval to make the fuel purchases. Company manager Harry Williams told Sokol “under no circumstances” were the men given permission to make personal purchases with a company credit card.
The men were charged via mailed summons from Rostraver District Judge Charles Christner’s office.
