For the third time in a week, a Pennsylvania Lottery player in Westmoreland County struck it big — like $3 million big.

The lottery announced Thursday that Colonial Manor Sunoco at 12970 Route 30 in Irwin sold a grand prize-winning $3,000,000 Diamond Dazzler scratch-off ticket this week.

An employee at the Sunoco station and convenience store said the lucky player did not seek information to cash the ticket at the store.

“No, we just found out ourselves. We’re very happy for the player,” said store owner Vishal Shah.

“I understand (the player) turned in the ticket yesterday,” Shah said.

The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The scratch-off ticket is a $30 game that offers five top prizes of $3 million.

To determine if they’ve won a prize, a player can review the ticket, scan it at a lottery retailer or use the ticket checker feature on the lottery’s mobile app.

Winners are urged to immediately sign the back of the ticket, call the lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at the nearest lottery office.

This week, the lottery also announced a jackpot-winning Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 ticket was sold in Lower Burrell for the Aug. 9 drawing, matching all five balls drawn — 8-35-36-42-43 — to win $800,001, minus withholding.

PNP Exxon in Lower Burrell earned a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Also this week, Par Mar 65, a gas station and food mart along Route 982 in Bradenville, Derry Township, sold a Treasure Hunt ticket worth $100,000 for the Aug. 12 drawing.

None of the winners had been identified.

Prizes must be claimed and tickets validated before winners can be identified, the lottery said.

Scratch-off prizes expire one year from the game’s end-sale date posted at palottery.com. All lottery prizes more than $5,000 are subject to applicable withholding. Since ticket sales began in 1972, the Pennsylvania Lottery has contributed more than $30 billion to fund property tax and rent rebates, transportation, care services, prescription assistance, and local services including senior centers and meals.
