23 new covid-19 cases reported in Westmoreland County

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported Tuesday that there were 23 new covid-19 cases in Westmoreland County, bringing its total to 1,033 cases since March 20.

No new deaths were reported in the county. The county’s coronavirus death counts remains at 39, according to the department.

Tuesday’s new case count came from 307 tests, which makes for a 7.5% positivity rate. Of those, 22 cases were confirmed with one probable.

Westmoreland County has conducted a total of 22,606 tests to date, with a 4.6% positivity rate.

Overall, 1,004 cases have been confirmed, with 29 listed as probable.

Westmoreland County’s has been reporting double-digit increases each day since June 30, when only six new cases were reported. In the past 24 days, the county has reported double-digit increases 21 times.
