Wage increases included for some Frazer part-timers in 2024
Frazer supervisors opened 2024 with reappointments to boards and commissions as well as pay increases to some part-time employees.
Matthew Beacom was unanimously reappointed as the supervisors chairman, and William Creevey will remain vice chairman. Supervisor Lori Ziencik was reappointed as the township’s secretary and treasurer.
Because Ziencik is an elected and appointed official, her salary will be set by the board of auditors, per the state’s second class township code, she said.
Meetings will continue to be the first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the township’s offices at 592 Pittsburgh Mills Circle, near the movie theater.
Frazer is donating $13,000 to each of the township’s two volunteer fire departments.
Also continuing in their roles are Martone Engineering as Frazer’s engineer at $95 an hour, Alyssa Golfieri as solicitor and Matthew Marshall as the township’s special counsel.
George Geary was reappointed as roadmaster and full-time road/general maintenance worker at a rate of $22 an hour, a 60-cent increase from 2023; and Carl Bauman was reappointed as a part-time road/general maintenance worker at $17.50 an hour, a 50-cent increase from last year.
All part-time road workers, as needed, will be paid $16 an hour. Part-time police officers will see a $1 hourly increase to $19 an hour.
Ed Crates will remain the zoning officer and building code official at $1,400 a month.
Supervisors appointed Estermyer & Associates to conduct the 2023 audit of township accounts. They also updated the township’s employee handbook. The handbook outlines procedures and policies for all Frazer employees, Ziencik said, and comes after the new police department contract.
“It needed updated legally. It was a housecleaning item,” Ziencik said.
Supervisors also made appointments to boards and commissions:
• Vacancy board chair: Laura Gaggini, one-year term.
• Planning commission: Bobbie Jo Elliott-Williams, four-year term.
• Zoning hearing board: Matthew Atkins, three-year term; Eric M. Ziencik, alternate member for a three-year term
• Board of appeals: James George, three-year term.
• Fawn-Frazer Water Authority: Eric L. Ziencik, five-year term.
