Riverview School District Superintendent Peggy DiNinno said Sunday that Riverview School District has canceled all of its classes on Monday because of a threat.

DiNinno declined to release more information about the nature of the threat.

Oakmont and Verona police are investigating.

“This decision was made in an effort to be proactive and to err on the side of caution as we work with local authorities to investigate a rumored threat,” DiNinno said. “Additional information will be shared when it becomes available,” she said.

An Oakmont officer reached Sunday night declined to comment and deferred questions to Police Chief Michael Ford on Monday.
