Free workshop offered for youngsters experiencing grief

Good Samaritan Hospice, a mission of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, will host a free youth bereavement care event from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Mansion, 141 Mansion Lane, Penn Township.

The event will be a fall festival-themed workshop for children who are managing the death of a loved one, and their caregivers. There will be activities to foster bonds with other families who have experienced the death of a loved one and special breakout sessions for adults.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations are strongly encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. Reservation deadline is Oct. 10. For reservations and more information, call 800-720-2557, ext. 4426.

Photograph submissions welcome for Roaring Run calendar

Roaring Run Watershed Association is looking for photograph submissions for its 2023 calendar.

Photographs should highlight the natural beauty of Roaring Run property and the Kiskiminetas River. Calendar sales will be a fundraiser for the association.

Participants sought for Apollo CROP Walk

Apollo Area Churches is seeking participants for the Diane Baer Memorial CROP Walk scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Oct. 2 on Roaring Run Trail, Kiski Township.

Registration will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the trail. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Refreshments will be served afterward.
