Leechburg HS to host Armstrong Marching Band Festival

The Armstrong County Marching Band Festival will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Veterans Memorial Field in Leechburg. Rain date is Thursday.

Hosted by Leechburg Area High School, students from Apollo, Armstrong, Freeport Area, West Shamokin and Leechburg Area high schools will participate.

There will be food, candy grams for band members and a 50-50 raffle Admission is $5.

Free diabetes seminar planned at AK Health Foundation

The Allegheny-Kiski Health Foundation will offer a free program about diabetes from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at the foundation office, 1 Acee Drive, Harrison.

Diabetes expert Denise Kissell will discuss healthy eating, being active, monitoring, taking medication and reducing risks.

Wednesday: The Agape Thrift Shop at Grace United Methodist Church, 1333 Freeport Road, will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Clean clothing in all sizes is needed. No housewares or bedding please.
