New Kensington school plans Veterans Day program

Mary Queen of Apostles School, 110 Elmtree Road, New Kensington will host a lunch and musical salute to veterans program Nov. 10 in the Greenwald site gymnasium, 110 Elmtree Road.

The school will honor all family members and friends who have served or are serving in the Armed Forces. Veterans should arrive at 12:15 p.m. and will eat a pasta lunch with students at 12:20 p.m. A patriotic music program will be afterward. Veterans and one guest are welcome.

Oakmont to celebrate at fall festival

A fall festival will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday on Allegheny River Blvd. in Oakmont, rain or shine.

The parade will begin at 11 a.m. and children’s treat bags will be distributed from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. by stores and businesses. The event is sponsored by the Oakmont Chamber of Commerce and there will be music, crafts, train rides, food, pumpkin painting, a costume contest and more. For details, visit Oakmont-pa.com.
