Tarentum-Brackenridge Christmas parade scheduled Saturday

The Tarentum-Brackenridge Christmas parade will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday in Tarentum.

Lineup will be at noon on East Fifth Avenue under the Tarentum Bridge. The procession will go down Fifth Avenue to Corbet Street and left on First Avenue to Morgan Street. Prizes will be awarded to the best float and best-decorated fire truck.

Benefit spaghetti dinner set Saturday in Springdale

A spaghetti dinner to benefit the medical expenses of Stephen James “Jim” Hvizdos of Springdale will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Springdale Veterans of Foreign Wars, 1151 Pittsburgh St.

Cost is $20 and there will be a cash bar, silent auction, bake sale, DJ and 50/50. An Army veteran, Hvizdos suffers from kidney disease and is awaiting a kidney transplant.
