Saxonburg woman’s club to place wreaths on vets’ headstones
GFWC Saxonburg District Woman’s Club will participate in this year’s National Wreaths Across America Day at 11 a.m. Dec. 17.
The club is hoping to place a fresh balsam wreath on all 300 of the headstones of veterans who were laid to rest in Saxonburg Cemetery. Wreaths can be sponsored for $15 each. For every two wreaths purchased, a third will be donated by Wreaths Across America. To sponsor a wreath, visit wreathsacrossamerica.org/PA0609P.

Volunteers needed for Apollo Christmas event
Apollo Events Committee is seeking volunteers to help at the Hometown Christmas celebration planned for 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 23 at Soldiers and Sailors Hall, 631 N. Second St., Apollo.
Tasks would include decorating before the event, handing out free goodies, supervising and cleanup.
