Maple sugaring program on tap

The Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania will sponsor outdoor programs on maple sugaring March 13 at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve, 614 Dorseyville Road, Fox Chapel.

Sessions last 30 minutes and are available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a tour of the maple sugar demonstration trail and participants can learn how to collect and make their own syrup. Masks and social distancing are required. Dress for the weather.

Rides available to vaccination appointments

The Westmoreland County Transit Authority is providing free transportation to any member of the community who needs a ride to their covid-19 vaccination appointment.

Chicken dinner to benefit local cancer patient

A barbeque chicken dinner to benefit cancer patient Danielle Mohan will be from 3 to 6 p.m. March 13 at Buffalo Township Firehall, 565 Sarver Road.
