Firemen’s carnival begins Tuesday in Vandergrift

The Vandergrift Volunteer Firemen’s Carnival will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday in Kennedy Park.

There will be food, games and rides. One-price rides and single ticket sales will be available.


Concert on the river set in Freeport

Freeport Renaissance Association will present acoustic guitar duo Louie Castle in concert from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Riverside Park.

There is no admission fee and food and drinks will be available. Bring a lawn chair.

Today: Apollo Area Historical Society will offer a free Heinz History Center program, “Suffrage: The Road to the Vote for American Women,” at 6:30 p.m. at the WCTU Building, 317 N. June 14: The Armstrong Nature Book Club will meet at 7 p.m. at the Outdoor Discovery Center at Crooked Creek, 142 Kerr Road. Wednesday: Al-Anon will meet at 8 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 847 10th Ave. The group offers help and hope for families and friends of alcoholics.

East Franklin

Tuesday: Harvest Church, 143 Reed Road, will host a free program, “Know How to Keep Your Flock Safe,” from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the church. The program is for members of the clergy, lay people, church staff, ushers, greeters of any faith and emergency services professionals. Doors open at 6 p.m. Reservations recommended. East Vandergrift

Harrison 

Monday: The free summer children’s playground program sponsored by Natrona Comes Together Association will present a crafts program to make Shrinkies at 12:30 p.m. at the park pavilion.

Monday through Friday: Building Block of Natrona will provide lunches for children from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Natrona Community Park. Children do not have to live in Allegheny County. Today: An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at Kiski Township Volunteer Fire Department, 1037 Route 56.
