Free concert planned at Concordia Lutheran Ministries

Concordia at Cabot Haven Apartments will host a free outdoor concert featuring the Penn-Trafford Community Band at 4 p.m. Sunday on the Haven II patio, entrance 5, 148 Marwood Road, Jefferson Township.

Registration is encouraged. To register, call Peggy at 724-352-5378 or email PTrettel@concordialm.org. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved indoors to the Haven I dining room.


Yoga fundraiser to benefit Buffalo Creek Nature Park

Sol Power Yoga in Buffalo Township will sponsor a yoga fundraiser at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Buffalo Creek Nature Park to benefit the park, 154 Monroe Road.

The event will be a one-hour power yoga class outside in the park picnic pavilion. Yoga mats will be provided. Admission is $10. No reservations are required.

The Sunday in the Park event with food trucks will be afterward.


Work day scheduled at Freeport gardens

Freeport Renaissance Association is looking for volunteers to help at a work day from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Hope Garden and Bicycle Garden on Fifth Street.

To give your time, come to the Hope Garden, 215 Fifth St. and bring your gardening tools.


Concert series to feature Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre

The Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre will be featured at the free 2022 Summer Concert series Sunday at Hartwood Acres Park Amphitheater, 4070 Middle Road, Hampton.

Black Dog Winery and Hop Farm Brewing trucks will be on site beginning at 6 p.m. and performances will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Bring a chair. Popup tents and umbrellas are permitted but must be taken down before the performance begins.

July 16: Tickets are on sale for the Ford City Community Kennywood picnic at Klingensmith Drug Stores in Ford City, Kittanning and West Kittanning. Cost: $28 for a FunDay Pass. Passes can also be used weekdays through Aug. 19. An extra $10 fee will be charged to use the tickets on weekends through Aug 19. Bus tickets for the day of the picnic are also available for $8.
