Sweep event to collect trash along Kiski River
Volunteers are needed to participate from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the Kiski River Sweep.
The group will kayak on the Kiskiminetas River and gather trash from the North Vandergrift section of Parks to Leechburg. Participants should meet at 8 a.m. at River’s Edge Canoe and Kayak, 3158 River Road, Gilpin, to sign waivers. Forms can be accessed at orsanco.org/river-sweep/volunteer-waiver, printed, filled out in advance and brought with you. Volunteers should wear clothes that can get wet and dirty and closed-toed shoes.

Bereavement event for children planned
Good Samaritan Hospice, a mission of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, will sponsor a free youth bereavement event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 25 at its Middlesex Township office, 116 Browns Hill Road, Suite 100.
The outdoor event is for children who have lost a loved one and their caregivers. Breakout sessions will be held for adults and lunch will be served.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations are strongly encouraged by Friday, but walk-ins are welcome. For reservations, call 800-720-2557, ext. 4426.
