Online job fair planned Feb. 3

Penn State New Kensington and the Pennsylvania CareerLink Alle-Kiski will sponsor a free live job fair online from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 3.

Multiple employers will be recruiting skilled and unskilled labor, entry level and experienced workers, veterans and college students and graduates.

Library collecting used greeting cards

South Butler Community Library in Saxonburg is collecting used holiday greeting cards through Feb. 4 for St. Jude Ranch where they are repurposed by teens who are learning work and life skills.

To donate your used cards, tear off the front of the card and drop them off at the library, 240 W. Main St.


Vandergrift Meals On Wheels seeks volunteers

Vandergrift Meals On Wheels is in need of regular and substitute volunteers to help with food packing, driving and delivering.

Feb. 7: Orders are being accepted for a Fat Cat’s Subs hoagie sale to benefit Lower Valley Little League. Order deadline is Sunday. Cost: $9 for a 13-inch hoagie. Thursday: Knead Community Café in New Kensington will hand out free grab-and-go dinners from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the café, 1011 Barnes St. This week’s dinner is sponsored by Dennis and Karen Cadwell. Those picking up meals are reminded to observe social distancing while they wait in line.

Tarentum 

Today: Tarentum Elks will host bingo at 7 p.m. at the lodge, 219 E. Sixth Ave. The kitchen will be open from 5 to 8:30 p.m.

Washington Township
