Highlands students to perform virtual talent show

Highlands High School will present a virtual February Follies Talent Show at 7 p.m. Thursday online at Zoom.us.

Student soloists will perform vocal and instrumental selections. Admission is free and the public is welcome. For access information, visit goldenrams.com and click on the February Follies icon.


Garden center accepting applications for college scholarship

The Greensburg Garden Center is accepting applications for the 2021 Katherine Mabis McKenna Scholarship.

The award is $1,500. Applicants must live in Westmoreland County or its bordering counties and have completed on year at an accredited college or university pursuing a two-or four-year degree in botany, horticulture, forestry, landscape architecture or related field.

Food pantry available in Harrison

The Natrona Community Pantry is located in Natrona Community Park, 12-20 River Road, Harrison.

Anyone in need is welcome to visit. Donations are welcome. Suggested items include canned fruit and vegetables, spices, salt and pepper, tuna, cake mix, powdered milk and tea bags.


Free grab and go lunch offered Wednesday at Allegheny Valley Church of God

Allegheny Valley Church of God, 216 Catalpa St., New Kensington, will serve free grab and go lunches at noon Wednesday.

Beef vegetable soup will be served for as long as the food lasts. Those attending are reminded to observe social distancing while making their pickup. For details, call 724-335-0994.
