Kiski Area toy drive to aide Toys for Alle-Kiski Kids

The Kiski Area Stuff-A-Bus toy drive will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Kiski Area High School atrium, Allegheny Township.

There will be a basket raffle, food trucks, a DJ and free face painting, hot cocoa, holiday crafts and Christmas coloring with a Cop. Come dressed as a Christmas character and get your photo taken with Santa or the Grinch.

Each toy donation earns one free auction basket ticket. Monetary donations made payable to Allegheny Township will be accepted. All proceeds stay local and benefit Toys for Alle-Kiski Kids. For details, contact Jodi at 724-882-3381 or jodi.king@kiskiarea.com.

Local non-profit to host free party for children with special needs

Reagan’s Journey will host a free Christmas party for children with special needs and their families from 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 11 at Redemption Church, 232 Hillcrest Drive, Lower Burrell.

The 2018 animated version of, “The Grinch,” will be screened and there will be crafts and refreshments. Reservations are required. For reservations, visit tinyurl.com/ar5bhmz6.

Reagan’s Journey is a local non-profit organization aimed at making life better for children with special needs and their families.

Deer Lakes music groups to perform at Allegheny County Courthouse

The Deer Lakes High School Symphonic Band and Concert Choir will perform Tuesday on the Grand Staircase of the Allegheny County Courthouse, 436 Grant St., Pittsburgh.

The band will play at noon and the choir performance will be at 12:50 p.m. Performances are broadcast on the Grant Street side of the courthouse so passersby can enjoy the music.

East Vandergrift 

Tuesday: Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish is selling tickets for a St. Nicholas Day raffle. Winning numbers will be the first drawn Pennsylvania Daily Pick 3 numbers at noon and 7 p.m. on St. Nicholas Day, Dec. 6. Winners will each receive $1,000, a $100 gift certificate to The Central Restaurant in Apollo and a $100 gift certificate to Naser Foods in Oklahoma Borough. Cost: $10, includes two numbers. Freeport

Wednesday: The Thrift Store Clothing Ministry at Freeport United Methodist Church, 211 Fourth St., will be open from noon to 3 p.m. All items are free, but donations will be accepted. Items available include clothing of all sizes, bedding and window items. Donations of fall and winter clothing, shoes and boots welcome. Donations must be laundered and free from pet hair. Harrison 

Tuesday: Allegheny Valley Hospital Auxiliary will have a Jewelry by Linda fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the hospital cafeteria conference room. Cost: necklaces, $10; bracelets and earrings, $5 or five for $20. All items are handmade locally. Cash and checks accepted.

Friday: Natrona Heights Veterans of Foreign Wars will have bingo at 7 p.m. at the post, 894 Veterans Lane. Doors open at 6 p.m., and there will be specials, a 50/50 raffle and final game jackpot.

Jefferson

Thursday: Bingo will be at 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion, 754 N. Pike Road. Doors open at 5 p.m. Under new management with higher payouts. The kitchen will be open. Proceeds benefit post and auxiliary projects.

Leechburg

Thursday: A New Path Al-Anon Family Group, a free, confidential program for anyone whose life has been affected by someone else’s drinking, will meet at 7 p.m. in First United Methodist Church, 251 Main St.

New Kensington
