Freeport Theatre Festival to present ‘Massey Harbison’

The Freeport Theatre Festival will present the play “Massey Harbison” at 7 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays Aug. 12 through 28 at the Steele Family Farm off Route 356 on White Cloud Road in Allegheny Township.

PennDOT schedules job fairs

PennDOT District 10 will host county job fairs at two of its local offices to fill a variety of positions in the region.

Fairs will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 16 at 504 S. Water St., Kittanning, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 30 at 351 New Castle Road, Butler. Positions available include transportation equipment operators, mechanics and winter maintenance workers. Attendees will be able to apply, interview and road test if eligible.

Dogs and owners welcome at annual HOPE Center fundraiser

The annual Mutts, Meows and Margaritas fundraiser to benefit the Alle-Kiski Area HOPE Center and its Saf-T Kennel will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Natrona Heights Veterans of Foreign Wars pavilion, 894 Veterans Drive, Harrison.

Dogs and their owners are welcome and there will be a buffet, margaritas and raffles. Activities for canines and their owners will include professional photographs, a sketch artist and photo contest. Cat lovers can email a photo of their pet in advance to maryb@akhopecenter.org and a special photo lanyard will be prepared to wear at the event.

Tickets are $20; $35 per couple, and dogs are free. Dogs must be on a 6-foot, non-retractable leash. Those registered by Aug. 26 will receive a free event T-shirt.
