StoryWalk to be installed in Lower Burrell park

Peoples Library and the Allegheny County Library Association Youth Services will sponsor a free StoryWalk through Aug. 22 at K-9 Officer Derek Kotecki Memorial Park, 730 Wildlife Lodge Road, Lower Burrell.

Visitors can read the story, “The Day the Crayons Quilt,” by Drew Daywalt page by page as they stroll around the outdoor path during park operating hours.

Registrations being accepted for back-to-school picnic

A back to school picnic and supplies giveaway will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 21 at Lost Dreams Awakening, 408 rear Eighth St., New Kensington.

Children must be present and accompanied by a parent or guardian unless a disability would prevent them from attending. The facility is handicap accessible. Reservations are encouraged by Friday, but not required. Students from all districts are welcome.

Donations sought to finance pavilion at Saxonburg library

South Butler Community Library and Saxonburg Area Rotary Club are partnering to build a large pavilion behind the library, 240 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
