Tarentum kicked off the return of its Night Markets on Thursday, with hundreds of people drawn to town to browse vendors, sample food and listen to live music.

The events are scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. the third Thursdays of each month. The next one is June 16.

Coinciding with the Night Market was borough smoothie and juice bar, The Buzz, marking its one-year anniversary along East Sixth Avenue.

A DJ spun lively tunes and kept the vibe upbeat while people ventured inside to try an energy tea or vitamin-packed smoothie.

Also making its debut in town was Ales on Sixth, a new bar/restaurant that promises to fill its schedule with trivia, darts and family-friendly fun on an outdoor patio.
