State police arrest wanted East Brady man after pursuit
State police arrested an East Brady man after a vehicle and foot pursuit early Thursday in East Franklin.
The man’s name and age were not immediately released.
State police said they stopped the man for traffic violations at 12:05 a.m. at Hilltop Plaza. They found he was wanted on three warrants out of Armstrong and Butler counties, but an officer could not say what the warrants were for.
The man fled from the stop, traveling on Route 268 to Beagle Club Drive. He was turning onto Porterfield Hill Road when police used their vehicles to disable and stop the suspect’s car.
Police said the man then fled on foot.
There was a brief foot chase before the man was caught and taken into custody.
Police said the man was under the influence of alcohol, and allegedly had a blood alcohol level of 0.136 percent. The legal limit for driving is 0.08 percent.
State police said they intended to file charges of felony fleeing and eluding, drunken driving and numerous summary charges.
The man was being held in Armstrong County Jail.
