Pittsburgh Womens Board members Kathleen Miclot and Michelle Gleason will chair this year’s fundraiser, "Springtime in Paris - Fashion Their Future."

A French-inspired fundraiser with fashion, fresh flowers and food hosted by the Women’s Board of Pittsburgh will benefit needy children across the region.

The “Springtime in Paris” soiree will serve as the group’s annual campaign to benefit children’s nonprofits that focus on education, recreation and other needs.

It is scheduled for 6 p.m. April 27 at the Fox Chapel Golf Club and will feature a make-your-own bouquet bar.

Grant recipients will be chosen sometime after the event, publicity chair Lisa Bowden said.

“More than likely, it will be more than one recipient because we like to help as many children as we can,” Bowden said.

Founded in 1992, the Women’s Board boasts about 70 members. The group has raised more than $1.3 million for underserved children, with previous grants paying for science programs, weekend food packages, fitness sessions and birthday presents for homeless children.

Past recipients have included Hosanna House, Beverly’s Birthdays and the children’s programs of the Women’s Center and Shelter of the Greater Pittsburgh area, among others.

In 2022, the fundraiser brought in $73,000 shared among 412 Boxing, Project Theia and Propel Schools Homestead.

“Our event is made possible by the hard work and dedication of our amazing members,” co-chair Michelle Gleason said.

“We are so grateful for the support of our sponsors, retailers and attendees.”

This year, the group is unveiling new branding for the event. It will attach the phrase “Fashion their Future,” which co-chair Kathleen Miclot said was derived from the goal of impacting youth and supporting their dreams.

“The funds are raised at our annual benefit, which is always fashion-focused,” Miclot said.

This year’s event features a runway fashion show with the season’s latest styles from Carabella in Oakmont. There will be cocktails, a seated dinner, flower bar and auctions.
