Water flows along Fifth Street in Aspinwall at about 7 a.m. Saturday after three watermain breaks were discovered in the boorugh.

Many Aspinwall residents are without water Saturday after three waterline breaks, according to borough officials.

The public works department responded before 7 a.m. and determined there were breaks in the 700 block of Center Avenue, the first block of Fifth Street, and the intersection of Field Avenue and Second Street.

A post on the borough’s Facebook page cited Friday’s power outages as the cause.

“The constant power surges at the PWSA plant can cause added pressure and can overwhelm the system,” the post read.

Public works crews are working to repair the lines.

For now, there is no boil water advisory issued. Residents who experience discolored or brown water should run the cold tap until it clears.
