A suspect has been named in the Dec. 30 robbery of the First National Bank on Tarentum Bridge Road in New Kensington.
New Kensington police and the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office have an arrest warrant for Anthony Burda, 37, of Tarentum.
Burda is charged with robbery, terroristic threats and theft, according to court records.
Burda is accused of robbing the bank in front of Riverview Plaza just before it closed at 5 p.m. Dec. 30.
Police say he demanded money from the tellers and threatened to shoot employees if they did not comply with his demands, but no gun was shown.
Burda got away with an undetermined amount of money, authorities said. Police believe he acted alone.
Authorities said Burda is known to frequent the Tarentum, Harrison and Brackenridge areas.
Anyone with information about Burda’s location is asked to contact New Kensington police at 724-339-7534, the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office at 724-830-3949 or the U.S. Marshal’s Office at 412-644-3351.
