Plum’s Holiday Park and Logans Ferry Heights neighborhoods will be the main beneficiaries of road work in the borough this year.

Of nearly a dozen roads that will be resurfaced, seven are in Holiday Park. Eighteen that will be tarred and chipped are all in Logans Ferry Heights.

Borough council accepted a bid just over $1 million for the work from Derry Construction. The Latrobe company had submitted the lowest of seven bids, Assistant Manager David Soboslay said.

The work will cover 6.25 miles of borough-maintained roads.

Soboslay said borough crews are preparing roads for work by replacing storm sewer pipes and inlets.

Paving would follow in August.

Eleven streets will be milled and resurfaced, Soboslay said. One, Davidson Road, from Saltsburg Road to Old Frankstown Road, will have only the 4-foot outside wheel path milled and resurfaced on both sides.
