Motorists on northbound Route 28 will encounter overnight traffic interruptions Thursday night into Friday morning at the Highland Park Bridge interchange in Sharpsburg.
According to PennDOT District 11 spokesperson Steve Cowan, traffic will be stopped in 15-minute intervals, weather permitting, from 9 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday.
The rolling traffic delays will allow PennDOT crews to conduct shielding installation work.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time and to use caution traveling through the work zone.
Long-term lane restrictions began Monday on the Highland Park Bridge in Sharpsburg.
Those restrictions are expected to be in effect through late August.
