A one-day closure on Monroe Road will impact drivers in Buffalo Township on Monday.

PennDOT announced the closure, which will impact a stretch of Monroe Road from Sarver Road to the intersection of State Route 356. The area stretches from Freeport Area High School’s football field to the Butler-Freeport Rails to Trails.

The closure is slated for Monday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting. In the event of inclement weather, the closure will be pushed to Tuesday.

The area of Monroe Road will be closed for a pipeline replacement.

Drivers should detour by using State Route 356 to State Route 2018 to State Route 2015, PennDOT officials said.

Drivers can check road conditions through 511PA, a free, 24-hour service that provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 950 traffic cameras.
