A Penn Hills man will serve up to nine years in prison for selling fentanyl-laced heroin to a Lower Burrell man who died of an overdose in 2018.
Christopher Krishawn Napper, 26, pleaded guilty Thursday to a felony count of drug delivery resulting in death and another drug offense in connection with the Aug. 26, 2018, fatal overdose of Douglas Shirey, 41.
Police said they found multiple stamp bags of heroin labeled “New Arrival” when Shirey’s body was discovered in his home. Investigators linked the drugs to a man known as “Montana,” who a witness later identified as Napper.
Video from a Penn Hills gas station showed Napper and Shirey together inside a store four days prior to the fatal overdose, investigators said in court documents.
Police said Napper had “New Arrival” stamp bags on him when he was arrested by North Huntingdon police twice in August, and his cellphone matched a number Shirey called to arrange a drug buy.
In court earlier this week, Westmoreland County Common Pleas Judge Meagan Bilik-DeFazio sentenced Napper to serve 4-1/2 to 9 years in prison.
As part of the plea deal, prosecutors dismissed counts of drug possession and criminal use of a communications device.
