Registered Republicans in O’Hara have a chance to fill an open seat on council, at least for the next year.

The township needs a representative to serve the 3rd Ward after Scott Frankowski resigned this week.

Frankowski was hired by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, which has a policy that prohibits employees from serving as public officials.

“It is with great regret, effective November 10th, I am resigning,” Frankowski wrote in a letter submitted to the township.

“I will miss seeing you all and wish the best for each one of you.”

Frankowski urged council to continue working hard to ensure that the township “will always remain a wonderful place to call home.”

Anyone interested in filling the vacancy must have lived in the township for at least a year and be a registered Republican, as Frankowski is.

The open term runs through 2021.

Deadline to apply is 4 p.m. Nov. 24. Applicants should send a letter of interest and resume to: Township Manager, 325 Fox Chapel Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15238.
