Not much is expected to change in West Leechburg’s 2026 budget.

With expected expenditures and revenue balanced at $560,260, there aren’t any tax changes expected, said borough Secretary Kayla Visnovsky.

That leaves the borough’s millage rate at 29 mills. A homeowner with the median assessed property value of $20,000 would continued to pay $580.

“Everything is pretty much remaining the same,” Visnovsky said.

The 2026 budget is projected to increase a little over $800. Visnovsky said the increase can be attributed to the borough’s garbage contract which is set to increase by $2,600.

“Compared to other bids we received, our contract is affordable,” Visnovsky said. “We’re happy to keep it as low as we can.”

She said borough funds had to be rearranged to cover the increase.

“We did have to decrease some other expenses,” Visnovsky said. “We took some money off of our yearly paving. We’ll be trying to make up the amount from savings throughout the year.”

Council members will continue to discuss the budget until it’s voted on during the Dec. 10 meeting.
