The city of New Kensington held a parade Friday night to celebrate the accomplishments of a New Ken native.

Skyy Moore was rookie wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs last season, in which the Chiefs won the Super Bowl. Moore caught a touchdown pass in the game.

As a young child, Moore lived in New Kensington’s Pine Manor neighborhood. He and his family later moved to the city’s Mount Vernon neighborhood.

Moore started high school at Valley High but later attended Shady Side Academy. He went on to play football at Western Michigan University.

The Chiefs drafted him in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
