The New Kensington-Arnold School Board has postponed voting on a number of building and capital projects that touch all of the district’s schools.

The board had been expected to vote Tuesday on projects for the high school stage and pool, the public address systems at Martin and H.D. Berkey elementary schools, and the public address and clock systems at Roy A. Hunt Elementary.

The projects had costs associated with them that totaled almost $184,000.

The motions were tabled — removed from the agenda and not voted upon — so they could be discussed further at a meeting of the board’s finance committee, board President Tim Beckes said.

Board member Nicholas DiCarolis, who chairs the finance committee, could not immediately say when that meeting would be held or when it will be scheduled. When determined, the date will be posted on the district’s website, he said.

The projects before the board were:

• High school stage: To negotiate a final contract and cost with Pittsburgh Stage for the renovation of the stage rigging and tracks, electrical and lighting systems.

• High school pool: To pay HD Liners $88,000, the lowest proposal received, to replace the pool lining and intake jets; and, separately, to have The Efficiency Network finalize engineering and develop the final construction cost for the replacement of the pool’s HVAC system and boiler.

• PA systems at Martin and Berkey: To approve the purchase and installation of new public address systems at Martin Elementary, $25,570, and Berkey Elementary, $24,980, with Dobil, the lowest proposal received through COSTARS, the state’s cooperative purchasing program. The $50,550 total cost would come from the district’s capital projects fund.

• PA and clock systems at Hunt: To approve the purchase and installation of new public address and clock systems at Hunt Elementary at a cost of $45,364, also with Dobil, through the COSTARS program and paid from the capital projects fund.
