Visitors to First United Presbyterian Church in Tarentum will get a fresh welcome next week.
Crews are pouring new concrete steps and a railing after the entrance was damaged in a vehicle crash last fall.
“It’s finally the point where the weather is nice enough to get the concrete and railing replaced,” said Jessica Jones, church secretary.
A vehicle backed into the stairs in the fall, crumbling the entrance and mangling the railing at the church at 913 Lock St.
Jones said the work will be paid for through insurance.
Crews from Murrysville-based Franco Concrete Co. excavated the space Wednesday and said they plan to pour new steps Monday.
“Hopefully, they’ll be up and ready before the farmers market next week,” Jones said.
The church sponsors a market in the parking lot from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays.
In the meantime, visitors are asked to use the side entrance to the church.
