A man died Sunday night after being involved in a hit-and-run collision in Plum earlier in the day, authorities said.

James W. Baker, 66, of Penn Hills died about 8:40 p.m., according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office.

Baker was riding a motorcycle in the 100 block of Unity Center Drive when the incident occurred, Allegheny County police said. Baker was taken to an undisclosed hospital, where he died.

County homicide detectives were called to the scene about 3:50 p.m.

They said they determined a white Lincoln sedan was the other vehicle involved. Detectives later found the vehicle unoccupied and were working to identify the driver.

Baker’s family is begging for the driver to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call the county police tip line at 833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
