Man in critical condition after shooting in McKeesport
One person was taken to the hospital early Monday after a shooting in McKeesport, according to Allegheny County Police.
At 3 a.m., McKeesport police were dispatched to the 300 block of 25th Street for reports of a shooting, according to county police.
At the scene, first responders found a 35-year-old man shot multiple times, police said. They said the man was targeted through a window while inside his home.
He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, police said. Homicide detectives are investigating.
Police ask those with information to call the county police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
Homes, vehicles struck by gunfire in Arnold
Arnold police are investigating after homes and vehicles were hit by gunfire Sunday afternoon.
No one was reported injured.
Chief Joshua Stanga said officers were dispatched to the area of Fourth Avenue and 14th Street at just about 5:45 p.m.
Officers were told two actors in black clothing fired multiple shots and then fled on foot down the 1400 block of Cherry Alley.
“Officers quickly arrived in the area and were unable to locate the actors,” Stanga said.
Arnold police were assisted by New Kensington and Lower Burrell departments.
Officers found at least two vehicles struck by bullets, as well as two residences and building materials, Stanga said.
Multiple spent shell casings were found in Cherry Alley, he said.
Castle Shannon fire under investigation
A basement fire Sunday in Castle Shannon is being investigated by the Allegheny County Fire Marshal.
At 10:38 a.m., crews were dispatched to the 300 block of Murrays Lane for reports of smoke coming from a structure, according to the Castle Shannon Volunteer Fire Department.
Firefighters put out a fire located in the building’s basement, the department said.
No injuries were reported. The fire marshal’s office is investigating the fire’s cause.
