McKees Rocks man accused of firing shots in New Kensington
A McKees Rocks man is accused of assaulting a woman in New Kensington two days after, police say, he fired shots in the city.
Kisheem Malik Alberto Husband, 23, admitted to firing two shots on Haser Drive on Jan. 24, New Kensington police said in a criminal complaint.
Although police took him into custody and questioned him that same day, he was not charged in connection with it until Wednesday, according to court records.
In the interim, a woman told police that Husband had punched her multiple times Jan. 26 during an argument at her Fifth Avenue apartment. She walked into the police station Monday to report the alleged assault, according to the criminal complaint in that case.
The woman showed officers a large bruise on her left arm, the complaint said.
Police charged Husband with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. He was arraigned Tuesday and sent to the Westmoreland County jail after being unable to post a $10,000 bail.
Husband was arraigned again, in connection with the shots fired case, on Wednesday.
Police responded to a report of shots fired on Haser Drive shortly after 10 a.m. Jan. 24. Officers found two 9 mm casings stamped “9 mm Luger,” police said.
Numerous residents came outside and said they heard the shots from inside their homes, according to the complaint in that case. The car, a gray Ford Fusion, was captured on video at numerous points around the scene and in the city, police said.
Husband was a passenger in the car and was found in possession of a 9 mm pistol with a live cartridge in the chamber stamped “9 mm Luger,” according to the complaint. He also had a small amount of marijuana, police said.
During an interview, police said, Husband admitted to firing the shots on Haser Drive from the same gun he was found carrying and signed a written confession.
Husband did not have a valid concealed carry permit, and a previous permit was revoked because of a previous arrest, the complaint said.
Police charged Husband with carrying a firearm without a license, disorderly conduct and two drug offenses. His bail on those charges was set at $25,000.
His preliminary hearings for both cases are scheduled for Feb. 8 before New Kensington District Judge Frank J. Pallone Jr.
