A man released from custody on a $500,000 bond for drug and weapons charges in North Carolina was arrested at a house in Arnold where, police said, they found cocaine and a pistol.

Alvinn Davonn Twine, 32, was arrested after officers from the Westmoreland County Drug Task Force and agents from the state Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics Investigation executed a search warrant in the 1400 block of Fourth Avenue on Sept. 14.

According to a criminal complaint against Twine, agents and officers encountered Twine in the house after knocking on a rear door to announce themselves and the door popped open from having been broken in the past.

Police said they also encountered a woman and two small children in the house.

Police said a search of the residence found about 42 grams of cocaine inside a liquor bottle box on an end table in the living room, which was within reach of the children.

A 9 mm pistol, loaded with six rounds, including one in the chamber, was also found in the living room where, police say, Twine was coming from when they entered. Police said they also recovered a magazine loaded with six rounds.

Police said they found about $2,100 in cash plus an undisclosed amount of recorded Bureau of Narcotics Investigation funds. The pre-recorded funds were mixed with the other currency, the complaint said.

According to the complaint, Twine is out on bond from an offense June 2 in Iredell County, N.C., where he is charged with drug possession, trafficking cocaine, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.

According to a report from Queen City News, Twine and his vehicle were searched after a traffic stop June 2 on I-77 in Iredell County. Twine said he was going to Miami.

According to the report, police seized 90 grams of cocaine, marijuana, scales and a loaded 9 mm handgun.

Arnold police charged Twine with felony and misdemeanor drug offenses and a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of children.

New Kensington District Judge Frank J. Pallone Jr. cited the pending charges out of North Carolina in denying Twine bond when he was arraigned Sept. 14.

Twine did not have an attorney listed in court records.

Twine’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 29.
