Motorists traveling Route 28 between the Millvale and Highland Park Bridge exits will encounter single-lane restrictions in both directions from 7 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday as crews patch the concrete roadway and repair inlets, PennDOT said.

The work is part of an $11.5 million project that is being done during off-peak daylight hours and overnight. Gulisek Construction LLC is the prime contractor for the overall project that is expected to completed next spring . It will be coordinated with other projects on Route 28, PennDOT said.

Additional work includes bridge preservation work, reestablishing existing slopes, patching concrete and overlay work, as well as improving guardrails and drainage upgrades. There also will be signing and pavement marking improvements, and other construction work.
