An Allegheny Township Boy Scout troop is selling Mother’s Day flowers to raise money for its summer camp trip.

Boy Scout Troop 551/6551 of Allegheny Township held the event at Leo’s Tire Service in Vandergrift .

The troop will be back from noon to 5 p.m Saturday.

Prices are 4-inch pots, $5; hanging baskets, $20; a flat, $20. The flowers were supplied by the Kiski Garden Center.

Money from the sale goes toward their annual trip to Mountain Run Camp.

Scoutmaster Bill Watt of Allegheny Township said the troop usually sells live Christmas trees in December, but due to the rising costs of trees, the troop had to find an alternative fundraising effort.
