Highlands School Board to meet virtually via Zoom
Highlands School Board will meet remotely for its agenda session Monday night.
District officials contacted families by phone to alert anyone who had been planning to attend the meeting at 7 p.m.
It was not clear why the meeting was being shifted to online. Superintendent Monique Mawhinney could not immediately be reached for comment.
The district recently began publishing a covid-19 dashboard on its website, with results of confirmed cases updated each week.
Since the start of school, there have been 47 cases of covid-19 throughout the district, including 12 reported today — seven at the high school and five at the middle school.
On Sept. 7, the middle school moved to remote learning for four days because of a high number of covid-19 cases, according to a district alert. The district dashboard showed seven cases at the middle school between Aug. 27 and Sept. 6.
District officials said in the alert that the change was for Monday night’s meeting only.
