Harrison woman suffers minor injuries in 2-vehicle crash in Harrison
A Harrison woman suffered minor injuries Tuesday when the car she was driving collided with a minivan in the township, according to police Chief Mike Klein.
The crash happened at about 8:20 a.m. at Freeport Road and Idaho Avenue, between Key Bank and a car wash.
Klein said Joanna Williams was pulling onto Freeport Road from Idaho Avenue when her white Chevrolet Cavalier was struck by a Dodge Caravan headed toward Tarentum on Freeport Road. He said it appears a driver’s obstructed vision may have led to the crash.
“There was a truck in the right lane and this individual that was traveling south was in the left lane,” the chief said. “The truck was turning right. I think Miss Williams attempted to pull out, and there was probably a vision obstruction of seeing that truck turning.”
Williams was taken to nearby Allegheny Valley Hospital to be evaluated for her injuries and has since been released, the chief said Wednesday. He didn’t know the extent of her injuries.
The driver of the minivan wasn’t injured, Klein said.
Both were driving alone.
No criminal charges will be filed, the chief said.
