Harrison police warn of vehicle break-ins

Harrison police are urging residents to lock their doors after a spree in which two females were reported to be rifling through vehicles early Tuesday.

Chief Brian Turack said officers were called about 12:15 a.m. to Spruce Street in the township’s Natrona neighborhood.

“We received a report of two individuals opening car doors and there was a witness who saw them entering multiple vehicles,” Turack said.

“The witness took very detailed descriptions of the suspects and provided them to police.”

Officers arrived to find two people with matching those descriptions walking into a house. They were identified as juveniles.

Police continue to investigate and are asking any residents who noticed items missing from their vehicles to call police at 724-224-3355.

“It is unknown if anything was stolen because we are waiting to see if additional reports come in,” Turack said.

He is grateful to residents who keep any eye on neighborhood happenings.

“We are very appreciative of our residents who call when they see something suspicious and talk to the officers to relay what they saw,” Turack said.

Tarentum police were notified of a similar incident about a week ago.

A post to social media said surveillance video caught three males getting into vehicles along the 800 block of School Way near Prospect Cemetery in neighboring Brackenridge, according to the post.
