Harbison’s Nursery in Harrison was one of three properties burglarized early Friday, July 22, according to police.

Harrison police are investigating the burglaries of three businesses late last week along Freeport Road.

A truck was stolen early Friday from Freehling Service at 2901 Freeport Road.

Burglars also hit Della’s Frozen Custard at 5001 Freeport Road and Harbison’s Nursery at 4024 Freeport Road.

All three incidents happened overnight Thursday.

Aside from the truck, the thieves didn’t make off with much else, Harrison police Chief Mike Klein said.

“They were probably disappointed after looking for a cash register and not finding one anywhere,” he said.

Police are studying surveillance footage to assist the investigation.

Klein said the burglars used a rock to force their way into Freehling’s. At Della’s, they entered by breaking one of the glass windows.

Harbison’s, which sits across from Walmart, has been closed since last season to make way for construction of an Aldi grocery store. That building is more or less empty, police said.

“They probably were frustrated,” Klein said. “They broke in looking for money, didn’t get any and then moved on.”
