Part of Guys Run Road in Harmar will be closed to traffic during daylight hours Wednesday through Oct. 9 so PennDOT can repair a landslide area.

PennDOT said the road will be closed between Dremmel and Locust Hill roads from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.

Crews will be doing work on an area that slid and sent rock, dirt and debris onto the road. PennDOT crews also will complete pipe installation and washout repairs.

Police Chief Jason Domaratz suggests that anyone needing to drive from Harmar to Fox Chapel, the PPG plant area or Chapel Downs neighborhood to use Route 910 to Locust Hill.

PennDOT’s official detour directs traffic onto Fox Chapel Road, Powers Run Road, Freeport Road and back to Guys Run Road.
